PRNewswire-- "The Carlos Santana Universal Tone Tour 2010 gets underway on June 30 with an initial North American leg running through early August. Carlos and the Santana Band will be joined on the road by special guest Steve Winwood, who will open the dates. Following the kick-off concert at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN, the tour travels through the Midwest and Canada for the first half of July, and then heads to the East coast.
Highlights along the way include shows at Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL (7/9); Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON (7/11); Bell Centre in Montreal, QC (7/15); Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY (7/18); Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA (7/23); Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheatre in Virginia Beach, VA (7/27), and Cruzan Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL (8/1).
The Universal Tone Tour 2010 will feature hits from Santana's four-decade-long career, as well as songs from a brand new studio album that Carlos Santana is currently putting finishing touches on. Santana's most recent release was the 2010 reissue of Supernatural as a 2-CD Legacy Edition — featuring 11 previously unissued bonus tracks — in celebration of the classic nine-time GRAMMY-winning album's 10th anniversary."
Steve Winwood released a multi-disc career retrospective on June 7th entitled “Revolutions – The Very Best Of Steve Winwood”. It is a portrait of one of the most influential British musicians in rock history; a singer-songwriter, peerless vocalist, guitarist and keyboard player.
“Revolutions: The Very Best Of Steve Winwood” is available in two high quality formats: a single CD for the casual fan and a four CD deluxe box set including 60 page book for the connoisseur, with sleevenotes by writer Dylan Jones.

Wonderful show at the Jones Beach Theater on July 18th, with Steve's high spark factor very much in evidence! Would have loved that part of the program to go on longer, though having Steve appear with Santana was excellent. Kudos to Steve's very talented band members too. A great evening!
My wife and I attended Saturday In The Park in Sioux City Iowa and saw Steve and Carlos, waht a night!!!!! being an ex-Birmingham Area brit it was great to settle down to Steve's music LIVE! he is a legend in the music industry, to be followed up by Sanatana, how could there have been a better evening of live music! fantastic, unforgettable, anyone who has the chance HAS to go see Steve, or Santana, or both!
My wife and I attended Steve's shows at SummerFest AND Tinley Park,8 days apart. His band was in excellent form, and Steve ROCKED on lead guitar! We only wish that he played for MORE than 1 hour!We haven't missed any of his concerts in our area in the last 25 years!
Saw Stevie last night in Ottawa. I've been waiting since 1972. The wait was worth it. A turly amazing show. I'm still buzzing from it. Too short dues to time restraints but ann hour or so was one of the best I've ever seen. Thanks Stevie for that incredible show and the Traffic songs as well as the new stuff. Hope you can come back our way someday soon. If you don't have tickets get some. You'll thank me believe me!
Saw Stevie and Carlos last night at Bluesfest.
Awsome. Both of them.
Two complaints -!. not enough of either of them - time by-law shuts them down at 11PM
2. Disappointed Stevie didn't make it to the stage with Carlos.
The magic was happening with Carlos and the band. An incredible lineup of extremely talented musicians.
Stevie was the show on his stage. Sax palyer was very good, the rest of the cast were very competent but did not shine. How Steve Winwood can preserve that velvet voice performing for so long is truly remarkable. Been a fan since the days of Spencer Davis.

Saw the Santana/Winwood concert on 7/10 at DTE Energy Music Theater in Clarkston, MI. Although I understand that Steve was not the headliner, I do wish he could have played for more than an hour. His voice is awesome, and sounds just as good today as it did in the 70's; mind you this is LIVE IN PERSON! Wonderful performances of "Higher Love" and "Gimme Some Lovin'". Unfortunately, I thought that since some of Steve's later is more Latin, he and Carlos would have done some of Steve's cuts from the album About Time. I hope Steve comes back to Detroit on his own ticket so we can hear more of his material! I have all of Steve's solo stuff and I love how each album has a different feel to it. I just find him to be one of the most talented performers of all time!
